Spotswood Cricket Clubs Commitment

for Senior Men’s Turf X1’s for 2010/11

·        Spotswood Cricket Club will strive to at all times provide the best cricket facilities (both practice & playing) to ensure all players reach their particular ability level and enables the club to fulfil its number one priority of becoming 1st Eleven Premiers.

·         We will pick the best teams available and we will select players under the guidelines set in our playing selection criteria.

·         We will offer every junior player access to learn and develop their skills via every teaching aid within the club, including, video, mechanical and senior players and staff.

·         We will endeavour to provide an environment where all involved with the club including coaching, senior players, junior players and parents can mix in an effort to give the Spotswood Cricket Club and its members every opportunity to achieve its desired goals.

·         It is expected that Coaches, Players and Parents make themselves available when possible for all club allocated functions.   

Player Selection Criteria 

·              It is expected that players will make themselves available for the entire season and finals.

·              A player’s selection will be based in part on attendance at training as well as on field performance.

·              In all cases players that miss a game or games due to anything other than injury or special circumstances will return via a lower eleven.  *Special circumstances will be considered to some individual cases. 

Training

·              Training will commence at 5.30pm and finish at 7.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday nights unless otherwise informed.

·              Anyone who leaves the training track prior to 7.30 “must” inform the practice captain

·              Prior to starting the training session all players will be expected to perform a **minimum warm up based on current fitness levels. The minimum warm -up required will be outlined on a whiteboard.

·               If you are unable to attend training due to work or personal commitments you “must” ring or text the practice captain to ensure your name is ticked off the “at training” list.    

 ·              Blatant disregard for this most basic of courtesies will result in player demotion for the following game regardless of the players standing 

All players are expected to be in the social rooms on selection nights for the reading out of the teams.   All training attendances will be recorded for selection purposes.

**The SCC appreciates that not everyone will be able to perform the same warm up and will cater for this on an individual basis on the day.
