Spotswood Cricket Club are rapped to announce the resigning of Jarrod Martignago for the 2024-25 season. Jarrod had an outstanding season last year with 785 runs in North West comp and also another 166 runs in the T20 format, 951 runs in one season, outstanding.
Jarrod was also named as Opening bat in the VSDCA team of the year.
Not bad considering it is selected from 32 senior team in VSDCA.

Dan Schuppan Club Coach 2024/25
Spotswood Cricket Club are delighted to announce the reappointment of Dan Schuppan for his 6th consecutive season as Coach.
His leadership, commitment and coaching of younger players in outstanding. Dan is still a fantastic opening bowler, representing the VSDCA in their combined team against Victoria Country team last season.

Jackson Wadden is back for 2024/25
Spotswood Cricket Club are absolutely rapped with the resigning of opening bowler Jackson Wadden back to the club. Jacko who had a season off is back ready to fire and hopefully set a pathway for him to go to the next level in cricket.
Jackson knocked back many big offers to come back to Spotty to set his cricket career up and work with our experienced players along the way. Will be great to have the Wadden family back at the club again

The club originally introduced the McCarthy Medal (originally for best afield when playing Yarraville Club First XI).
The McCarthy family have been involved in the club since the early 90’s when Clinton and Michael first played/coached at the club while brother Richard also played at Spotty.

On behalf of the Spotswood cricket club we are extremely saddened to hear of the very recent passing of our former Secretary and Life Member Roy Picone.
Roy played 265 games at spotty, 3 premiership’s. Scc life member 1970, VTCA life member 2005. North B2 comp named after him. Has been delegate, Secretary, treasurer of the club. Liaison officer with Hobsons bay council. Won numerous awards from commonwealth government with the Australian sports medal service to cricket. Awards from cricket Australia and cricket vic.
Left hand dour bat who Scored 149 as his top score in firsts and took 8 wickets with his slow leg breaks
Bottom rooms named after him. Lived in the same house for his 95 1/2 years.
Roy will be sorely missed and we will miss seeing him around the rooms every season.
