NEW opportunities for girls and women to play cricket

Spotswood Cricket Club is making it easier than ever before for girls and women to have a go at cricket. This season, we’re starting up an under 13 all-girls team, and expanding from one women’s team to two.

Girls will play Monday evenings, and women play mostly on Sundays and occasionally Saturday. Training for both is on Thursday afternoon / evening, led by our experienced coach, Tracey Gleeson, who holds Cricket Australia coaching accreditation. Competitions begin in October.

Last year, the Spotswood women’s team won the T20 Cup and finished minor premiers for the season – this year, we’re looking to build on that success. Come and be part of it!

Family Fun Day Sunday 8 October

Come along to the club from 12 to 3pm on Sunday 8 October for our big family fun day!

All the family is invited for heaps of fun activities – face painting, massage, browse the latest cricket gear from Icon, grab a bite to eat and a drink, and more. We’re super excited that Melbourne Renegades staff will join us, with their inflatable bowling lane, cricket activities and heaps of giveaways, thanks to the assistance of Cricket Victoria.

It’s a great to chance for players to bring the family along to get to know others at the club better – and also an opportunity for to promote our great club to potential new members, especially to boost our juniors ranks.

So get it in your diary, follow our event on the Facebook page, and helps us make it a great day to kick off another great season!

Web rebuild underway

It’s time for Spotswood Cricket Club’s website to have a makeover.

We need to make sure it will provide all the info potential new members and players need to know, and that will involve a restructure, some page deletions and some new pages. And of course a good refresh of the design too!

Please be patient with us during the rebuild as you’re sure to stumble across a broken link or two.

Feedback is welcome! If you have any suggestions of what should be on the site or photos to offer, or want to get involved in helping our club to better promote what we do, get in touch with Yvette.
