The players who celebrated the reunion of the 1999/00 4th Eleven Premiership on Sunday.  Absent: Adrian Fortini (who had to leave before the photo) Thanks to Hazel Lauder for stepping in for Jack who was President at the time. Also many thanks to Rob Quinn for organising the day.

The fourth eleven will be trying to win their third premiership in a row over the next two weekends.

They are playing on the bottom oval at Spotswood and it will be great to see as many players and supporters as possible there to cheer them on. The canteen and bar will be open all day and into the evening. Some help from senior players at training on Tuesday and Thursday would also be welcomed.

Congratulations to Mark Butler and his merry band of helpers on the success of the 2010 Presidents Lunch, which was held at the WH Couch Pavillon last Friday.

Guest speakers for the day were former Australian cricketers Damien Fleming and Rodney Hogg, and former Nth Melbourne AFL footballer Peter German, with Ian "Chops" Rickman as MC. A great day was had by all.

Many thanks to all club members who helped either with the setting up, duties on the day or cleaning up afterwards. It wouldn't be possible without so many helpers.

On Monday December 14th, Roy Picone and John Wheeler, along with 11 others, were awarded the inaugural 2009 RECOGNITION OF SERVICE AWARD - SPORT AND RECREATION, which was held in the council offices.

This award was initiated by the Hobsons Bay Council to recognise the significant role volunteers play in enabling sport and recreation activities to flourish within Hobsons Bay. It recognises the commitment and dedication shown by people over a significant period of time in their sport. 

There were 13 worthy recipents in all, with some very impressive CV's. Roy and John, with over 50 years and 38 years respectively, of service to the Spotswood Cricket Club, were very deserving of this award.
